An original British Army Officers Greatcoat dating from the Second World War in a wearable size 38-40.
This pattern of coat was used for many years by British Officers from the time of the Great War all the way through to the 1950s. This particular example has all the hallmarks of a WW2 period example. It is made from a heavy khaki melton wool fabric and lined with rayon. It features two flapped pockets the outside and another two internal pockets as well as the muffler piece for the collar which is still buttoned inside. As well as this it features a full set of standard Kings crown general service brass buttons.
The coat is a small to medium size and will fit a 38-40 chest at most.
The condition of the coat is good but it has been heavily worn. It would look excellent as part of a Desert impression or mannequin. There is also a stain to the front which may well come up with cleaning.
All in all a reasonable example of a WW2 period Officers Greatcoat that would suit a re-enactor or collector.
