An original British Army Hospital Bed Jacket dating from the Second World War.
This pattern of jacket was produced for hopital patients and is often refered to as a 'bed jacket'. It is made from a soft, grey coloured flannel wool and is of a typical utilitarian design. It features a single breasted front which fastens with metal stamped zinc buttons as used throughout the Great War on British uniform. A single patch pocket is located the chest and there is a simple stand and fall collar which features rounded ends.
The jacket is a smaller size which will around a 36" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat ti measures -
Chest - 20"
Inside arm - 20"
Outside arm - 25"
The jacket is in good condition for its age and displays well. It is still totally wearable but does have numerous small moth holes which are illustrated in the pictures. Please take time to study these before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage item with some small flaws commensurate with age.
A nice original jacket which is fantastically utilitarian.
