An original French Chore Jacket in blue which was made during the 1960s.
This type of jacket is synonymous with French artisans, workers and labourers of the mid-century period and is arguably the most iconic jacket ever produced in France.
This example dates approximately from the 1960s with the collar shape being an indicator of this. It is made from the usual sanforized cotton used in France during this period due to its hard wearing nature. It features three patch pockets to the front and a five button front which fastens with black coloured plastic buttons.
The jacket is a medium size which will suit around a 42" chest well but could fit up to a 44" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat the jacket measures -
Chest - 24”
Inside arm - 20”
Outside arm - 24”
Shoulders - 20 1/2"
Length at rear - 28 1/2"
The condition of the jacket is reasonable considering it is a vintage work piece. It has some signs of wear and limited staining etc. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn, vintage work jacket which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
A good original example in a medium size.
