An original battledress blouse in excellent condition with dates from the 1940s or the early 1950s.
There is no label inside the jacket meaning it is impossible to date accurately but this pattern was produced from approximately 1942 until the middle of the 1950s and will therefore date from this period.
The jacket features green coloured revolving shank buttons which are held on with period split rings to the reverse. The waist fastens with a wartime period steel buckle. Epaulettes are located to each shoulder whilst inside there is no label. There is however a purple stamp but this is not legible.
The jacket is a larger size which will fit up to a 40" chest. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 24"
Waist - 19 1/2"
Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 25 1/2"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 22 1/2"
The jacket is in excellent condition with no signs of previous wear or use. It is a very fresh example which displays very well but is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age. Please study the pictures before purchasing.
All in all, a nice original British denim battledress blouse!
