An original Indian made British Jungle Green Bush Jacket clearly dated 1945 and in fantastic un-issued condition.
The shirt is made from cellular cotton which is often referred to as 'Aertex'. It is a lightweight, breathable fabric ideally suited to the tropics and was popular with the British military during WW2.
Like so much clothing supplied to the Far East, this shirt was manufactured in India. It features the typical Indian buttons, stitching and stamps found on wartime items. The Date is clearly marked inside the shirt as 1945 and a size stamp denotes the size as 5. The standard Indian circular stamp is also present although it is not legible.
The shirt is a small size which will fit around a 34-36" chest depending on desired fit.
The shirt is in fantastic un-issued condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are no signs of previous wear or laundering and all the original buttons are intact.
All in all this is stunning example of this pattern of shirt complete with a nice clear date. A must have for the serious collector!
