An original British Army undershirt as issued during the second world was. Clearly dated 1945.
These undershirts were part of the standard issue underwear worn by all arms of service throughout the Second World War.
This example is made from a fine material and is not one of the heavy wool examples often see on the market, making it ideal for re-enactment.
The label features the 1945 date as well as the War department broad arrow and size, which in this case is 3 which will fit up to a 38” chest.
The shirt is in very good condition and shows no signs of wear. It does however have a number of storage marks as can be seen in the photographs. These may come out with careful cleaning but I would not like to say.
All in all an excellent wartime example with a nice clear label and date.
