An original 1943 dated British Army anti-louse suit in unworn new old condition.
These suits were produced during the war as an all in one suit for delousing purposes. It is made from the standard green coloured denim cotton which was used for various workwear items by the British Army during this period. It is a true all in one coverall which is designed to cover all parts of the body. The rear laces together with cotton tape loops and more cotton tapes are fitted to the ankles and the hood. There is also a belt at the waist to tie the garment in tight to the body. There are also feet fitted to the suit to make the wearer completely covered.
The rear of the suit bears the original label which is still bright and legible. It has the title 'Overall Anti-Louse' and bears the size of 4. The maker's name of W. M. Sugden & Sons Ltd' is also present who were a large company famous for making shirts who are still in business today. Below this is the War Department broad arrow marking and the 1942 date.
The suit is in good condition with no signs of previous wear or use. Overall it displays well but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
A nice original example with a clear wartime date.
