An original pair of 1943 dated British army camouflage windproof trousers in a size 2 and in good condition.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in 1943 and was based on the earlier drab and snow windproof trousers. These examples are made from the lightweight gabardine fabric and are cut in the same style as the earlier windproofs with a wide leg, drawstring waist and map pocket to the left leg. The seat features a reinforced section. The camouflage pattern is screen printed onto the gaberdine fabric which in this instance has a notably orange-green hue which is likely a quirk of this particular manufacturer.
To the rear of the trousers the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the title 'Trousers, Windproof, Camouflaged' and the size of 2. The manufacturer's name 'Dunlop Rubber Co Ltd' is present as is the date of 1943 and the War Department broad arrow marking.
The trousers are in good condition overall with limited signs of wear and use. There is a small repair above the map pocket, another to the cuff and some other wear around the cuffs. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
A nice original pair of windproof trousers with a good label and in a striking tone.
