An original pair of British Khaki Drill Trousers made in the 1940s.

This pattern of trousers came into issue with the British Army and RAF in 1944 and feature the cross belt closure to the waist and slash pockets to the hips. The cross waist closure is now often referred to as 'Gurkha Pants'. As they are a private purchase example which were tailored for an officer of the RAF, the construction and cut is typical of the 1940s. They are made from a khaki tan coloured cotton drill material and the waist belts fasten with chromium plated single prong buckles. The fly fastens with plastic buttons and there is a single rear pocket to the seat.

The trousers will suit around a 30" waist and are slightly adjustable due to the waist belt design. When laid flat they measure -

Waist - 15"
Rise - 14 1/2"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 32 1/2"
Outside leg - 45 1/2"
Cuff - 9"

The trousers are in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. They display well and are still very wearable. There is some staining and some signs of wear including wear to the cuff which is illustrated in the last picture. This is to be expected with a vintage pre-owned item such as this but please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

Altogether a good pair of WW2 period trousers. These would make an excellent addition to any collection or wardrobe!
