Original 1940s British Military Khaki Drill Shirt

Original 1940s British Military Khaki Drill Shirt

Code: 54311

SOLD

An original 1940s British khaki drill shirt in used condition.

This shirt is clearly British made rather than theatre made and is an interesting design which I believe may be a Royal Marine pattern but would like to hear from anyone who knows exactly what it is. It is made from a plain cotton and features green rubber buttons as are often found on British made KD shirts made during this period. It features an interesting collar design which fastens down onto the body of the shirt in a similar way to a button-down collar but meaning it can be worn open at the neck.

The shirt is a smaller size which will suit someone of around a 36" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 21 1/4"
Outside arm - 23 1/4"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"
Length - 36"

The shirt is in worn condition as can be seen in the pictures. It shows signs of age and the epaulettes, whilst original, are not made from a matching material. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

All in all an interesting original 1940s period Khaki Drill shirt which would make a good addition to any collection.
