An original pair of 1940s British Khaki Drill Shorts in a size 28.
These shorts are typical of those issue during the Second World War being made of a khaki coloured cotton drill and featuring a button fly and belt loops. Tabs are also present near the waist and designed to be use as waist adjusters which is another nice period addition. As well as this they feature straight slash pocket to each hip which help date them as later pairs usually have angled pockets.
The shorts are a smaller size which will fit someone of around a 28" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 14"
Rise - 12 1/2"
Rear rise - 18"
The shorts are in good wearable condition with no signs of undue wear. They do however have some stains which are to be expected from a pair of shorts which are over 70 years old. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a vintage, pre worn pair of shorts.
A nice pair of 1940s shorts with some great details.
