An original pair of British Khaki Drill Trousers dating from the Second World War and in good condition.

These trousers are clearly locally made, or 'theatre' made and would have most likely been purchased by an officer from a local tailor. Made from the usual cotton drill material used for KD in this period, the trousers feature a button fly and brace buttons around the inside edge of the waistband. They also feature a high-rise waist, wide leg, and waist adjusters to each hip which are all common features to find during this period. What is most interesting however is the frogmouth pockets located to the front. This style of pockets was worn by officers in certain cavalry regiments whose regulations stipulated that trousers were to be cut in this style.

Being of private purchase origin there are no labels or markings. The trousers will suit someone of around a 34" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat the trousers measure -

Waist - 17"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 31"
Outside leg - 43"
Cuff - 9 1/2"

The trousers are in very good condition with signs of use or wear and use. There are lots of small marks as are often found on KD items. These may come out with cleaning and have been reflected in the price. Please bear in mind that these are a vintage pair of pre worn trousers and may have small issues commensurate with age.

All in all a nice pair of original KD trousers which would suit a collector or re-enactor well.
