Original 1940s British Army Officers' Brown Leather Ankle Boots 8 1/2

Original 1940s British Army Officers' Brown Leather Ankle Boots 8 1/2

Code: 55335

An original pair of World War Two period British Army Officers boots which were made by 'Manfield & Sons Ltd' and are a size 8 1/2.

These boots are typical of those used by Officers throughout the Second World War. They are made from a brown leather and the toe cap features a brogue detail which is less common to encounter and a nice addition. Eight pairs of brown painted metal eyelets are fitted to each boot and through these are the original brown coloured leather laces which feature a wire tip. This is usually only encountered on high quality footwear from the beginning of the 20th Century. The soles and heels are the originals and are both leather and feature metal cleats.

The boots feature a cotton tape puller to the rear which bears the maker's name of 'Manfield & Sons Ltd' and reads 'Northampton England' to the reverse side. Inside the boots bear markings including the size of 7 1/2.

Structurally the boots seem sound with some signs of wear and use. They have taken on a patterned look with the original brown colour having various dark areas. This has been reflected in price so please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

All in all, a good pair of boots from a Northampton maker.
