An original British Army Officer's Khaki Drill Tunic dating from the 1940s.
Like many Khaki Drill items, this example appears to be a private purchase theatre made example. Made from the usual khaki coloured cotton drill it features pleated breast pockets, lower bellows pockets and short sleeves. It is fitted with revolving shank buttons as were commonly used on military and workwear items and has evidence of where insignia was fitted to the epaulettes and collar.
The tunic is an extra small size and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 18 1/2"
Shoulders - 16 1/2"
Length - 27"
The tunic is in well worn condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are plenty of signs of wear, particularly to the right sleeve. Please study the pictures.
A well worn small size tunic which has a great look about it.
