SOLD

An original Royal Artillery Blazer made by 'J. G. Plumb' in the 1930s.

This blazer is cut in a typical fashion for the 1930s and 1940s. It is short in the body, features a pronounced notch lapel and a three button front which fastens with brass Kings crown Royal Artillery buttons. Like most blazers from the period it features patch pockets, two the skirt and one to the breast. The edges of the pockets, the cuffs and the edges of the jacket opening and lapels feature a coloured cotton trim of black, sky blue and yellow.

Inside the jacket there is no lining. The original manufacturer's label is still present and bears the maker's name of 'J. G. Plumb'. The original owner's name has been marked in ink and reads 'O N G Murphy'.

The jacket is a small size which will fit a 34" - 36" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 19"
Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 27"
Shoulders - 15 3/4"
Length - 29 1/2"

The jacket is in very good condition overall and displays well. There are no serious signs of wear or damage although there is a small area of moth grazing to the right sleeve (picture 13) and a very small moth nip to the same sleeve (picture 12).

A very nice 1930s jacket with some fantastic details!
