An original 1944 dated British Army officer's camel fleece lining which is intended to fit the officer's trench coat.

This pattern of liner was produced during the Second World War to be used with the officers Macintosh raincoat. It is intended to be removable allowing the coat to be lighter to wear in warmer weather. It is made from a khaki coloured camel fleece and has button holes to attach it to the inside of the raincoat and openings which correspond with the pockets.

The original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the title of 'Linngs, Camel Fleece No. 2' below which is the size of 8. The maker's name of 'Hirst & Thackway Ltd' is also present as is the 1944 date and the War Department broad arrow marking.

The overall condition of the liner is good with some signs of age etc. There are a couple of small holes to the rear but overall it displays well. P lease study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which has flaws commensurate with age.

An original example which would make a great addition to a Trench Coat.
