A cracking original pair of British Army 1940 Pattern Battledress Trousers which have been converted, most likely for ATS use.
These trousers clearly started life as an issue pair of 1940 pattern battledress trousers but have been tailored by their original owner. The waist band has been lowered and this has been done extremely well - clearly a professional job. A large tab as also been added which comes from the fly across to the right hip to secure the trousers.
The condition of the trousers I'd very good and they show little sign of wear. The sere material is consistant throughout and the lining is very clean. There are two small moth holes to the lower right leg but aside that the trousers are extremely good overall.
Their is no label present as this would have been removed when the waistband was altered. This is however the number 10 stamped inside the waistband in purple ink which denotes the size.
The waist of the trousers measures at 30".
A guaranteed wartime made and tailored pair of Battledress trousers which would compliment any collection.
