A nice original wartime forage cap manufactured in New Zealand in good condition.
This hat is a slightly greener shade than standard British made examples and has light coloured stitching which contrasts well against the body of the cap.
There is a hole to one side of the cap where a cap badge has previously been mounted and one small moth hole towards the back of the cap on the same side. Aside from this, the cap is in very good condition.
The interior is soiled and shows signs of use which has sadly meant that the original date is no longer legible. The orignal purple ink stamp can still be seen howeve. Two original brass buttons are sewn to the front of the hat.
All in all, a nice original example of a wartime forage cap which would be ideal for the collector or reenactor.
