A nice original example of a British Army GS beret clearly dated 1945.
This particular example is not one of the huge 'dinner plate' style berets, but a much more conservative size.
Inside the beret is clearly dated 1945 and bares the makers mark S&P Harris and Co, Glasgow. The hat is marked at a generous size 7 1/4.
The hat is in good overall condition and displays very well. The material around one of the eyelets has opened up but this could be repaired and is not noticeable when the hat is displayed or worn.
The front of the beret has two holes where a cap badge has been worn at some point.
A great original wartime beret, clearly dated and in a good large size. Ideal for the collector and re-enactor alike!
