A very rare original British Army Hospital Blue tie which dates from the Great War.
Hospital blue uniform was issued to men of the British Army who were convalescing in hospital from the Crimean War period all the way through to the early 1960s. The various uniform items are now very hard to find, especially of Great War vintage. Without a doubt however, the tie is one of the rarest items which are missing from many collections.
The tie is notably different to later examples issued in the Second World War. It is constructed in a typically Edwardian shape with a square end. An example of this pattern can be seen in the original period photograph attached.
The tie is in excellent condition with with no signs of previous wear or use.
A rare piece of Great War British uniform which is a must have for the serious First World War collector.
