Original WW2 British Army Officer's Long Puttees by 'Fox'

Code: 54857

SOLD

An original pair of British Army officer's long puttees made by Fox. These belonged to a Scottish officer who served in the Royal Artillery during the Second World War and are therefore a guaranteed wartime example.

This pattern of puttees were worn  by British officer's during the Victorian period, throughout the Great War and up to the beginning of the Second World War. They remained unchanged in design throughout that period making these usable for a wide time frame. They were made by 'Fox' who were the most prolific maker of officer's puttees during the first half of the 20th Century.

The puttees are made from a light coloured khaki wool and feature long khaki coloured cotton webbing tapes. One puttee bears the classic fox label which bears the patent number. Both puttees also feature an ink stamp which reads 'Made in England'.

The overall condition of the puttees is good with some signs of service wear etc. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A nice original pair of officer's puttess which are attributed.
