A scarce pair of Barbour wax cotton over trousers in brown, dating from the 1950s.
These trousers would have been worn with a matching brown wax cotton jacket. They are a simple, utilitarian design which were intended to be worn as over trousers. They are made from a wax cotton material and feature a plain leg, single button fly and drawstring waist. The drawstring is still present and there is a hanging loop to the rear to allow them to be hung up to dry. There are also openings to each hip which allow access to trousers worn underneath.
Both the original labels are still present to the interior. The first is the classic 1950s 'Barbour of South Shields' label which is very rare to find today. The second label states the style as 'Draw Cord Trs' and the size as small.
The trousers are in used condition but display well with no serious flaws or damage. Please study the pictures before purchasing.
A great example of these rare early Barbour trousers, complete with their original labels.
