An original pair of French Army Model 1947 Trousers dating from the late 1940s to early 1950s.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in the immediate post-war years and saw service in Indochina and the Algerian War amongst others.
The trousers are made from a heavy weight, hard wearing cotton and feature slash pockets to the hips, cargo pockets to the side of each leg, tabs at the bottom of the legs and two rear pockets. Chocolate brown buttons are fitted which are typical of the period and belt loops can be found at the waist.
The trousers will fit someone of around a 32" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 13"
Rear rise - 16"
Inside leg - 28"
Cuff - 9"
The trousers are in good condition with signs of use and laundering. They are still very wearable and present nicely. They are however a vintage, pre-worn item and may have small issues consummate with their age.
A nice pair of post-war French military trousers!
