An original pair of French Army Model 1947 Trousers dating from the late 1940s to early 1950s.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in the immediate post-war years and saw service in Indochina and the Algerian War amongst others.
This particular pair are in new old stock unissued condition. They are made from a heavy weight, hard wearing cotton and feature Slash pockets to the hips, cargo pockets to the side of each leg, tabs at the bottom of the legs and two rear pockets. Chocolate brown buttons are fitted which are typical of the period and belt loops can be found at the waist.
The trousers will fit someone of around a 34" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 17 3/4"
Inside leg - 28 1/2"
Rise - 15 1/4"
Rear rise - 17"
Cuff - 11"
The trousers are in excellent condition and appear to be unworn. They display very well indeed and have no signs of age or damage that I can find. Please study the pictures as these form part of the description.
All in all a very nice pair of original French Army trousers in fantastic condition.
