An original men's dogtooth sports jacket made in Leeds in the early 1960s.

This style of sports jacket was very popular with men during the 1950s and 1960s and was often worn twined with grey trousers and a shirt and tie. Cut from a blue, brown and orange dogtooth cloth, the jacket features a two button single breasted front with a long narrow notched lapel which is typical of the period. Flapped pockets are located towards the bottom of the jacket and a breast pocket can be found at the chest. The cuff is none-functioning and features two buttons.

The interior of the jacket is fully lined and made from two different shades of material suggesting that it may have been partially re-lined at some stage. Inside the interior pocket the original label is still present and bears the tailors name and address.

The jacket will fit someone of around a 42" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 23"
Inside arm - 15"
Outside arm - 23"
Shoulders - 30"
Length 19 1/4"

The jacket is in good condition for its age but does show signs of wear and use. There is some staining but overall it presents fairly well. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item.

A classic 1960s jacket in a great material!
