A nice original men's shirt made by 'Consulate in the early 1950s.
This shirt is typical of those made in the UK in the late 1940s and early 1950s. It is made from a grey-pink cotton and features a lovely spearpoint collar which is typical of British shirts of this period. The shirt also has long sleeves and a barrel cuff which fastens with the button giving it a nice casual feel.
Inside the neck of the shirt the original label is still present and bears the maker's name of 'Unicorn' in red. The collar size of 14 1/2 is printed on the inside of the collar.
The shirt will suit someone of around a 36-38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 20 1/2"
Inside arm - 21 1/2"
Outside arm - 24"
Length at front - 30"
Length at back - 34"
Shoulders - 15 1/2"
Collar - 14 1/2"
The shirt is in reasonable condition with some marks, staining and general signs of age and limited wear. Overall it looks to be very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a pre-owned vintage shirt thay may have small issues commensurate with age.
A great original shirt in a striking colourway. Casual British clothing from this period is hard to find making it quite a rarity.
