An original British indigo blue sanforized cotton drill Fisherman's smock which most likely dates from the 1970s.
This smock is typical of those worn by fishermen but were also favoured by artists and artisans due to their hard wearing nature and practical style.
The smock is made from a classic dark blue coloured cotton drill and features a cowl neck and three pockets to the front. It is a typically utilitarian design which is designed to be practical and functional.
Due to the cut of the item there is no strict size but I would recommend a small to medium fit of usp to a 40" chest. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 24"
Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 21 1/2"
Shoulders - 26 3/4"
Length at back - 28 1/2"
The smock is in good wearable condition with some signs of wear and use. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small glass commensurate with age.
Altogether this is a classic piece of British workwear which is a great utilitarian design.
