An original pair of French workwear trousers dating from the 1970s which are cut in the traditional style and could therefore pass as being from an earlier decade.
This type of trousers is synonymous with artisans, workers and labourers of the mid-century period in France. Often referred to as 'Bleu de Travail' which roughly translates as 'work blues', this colour of workwear is synonymous with France.
The trousers are made from a blue coloured moleskin material and feature black plastic buttons which fasten the fly. The trousers are cut in a typical style for the mid Century period with a flat front, angled slash pockets and a separate waistband with belt loops. A single welt pocket is located to the seat and fastens with a single button and there is a small ticket pocket below the waistband on the left hip. Inside the trousers the original labels are still present including the Digion maker's name.
The Trousers will fit around a 35" - 36"" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 17 3/4"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 19"
Inside leg - 31 1/2"
Outside leg - 44 1/2"
Cuff - 9"
The trousers are in good condition overall with only limited signs of wear and use. They may have other small issues commensurate with age but overall are wearable. Please study the picture before purchasing and bear in mind that these are a pair of pre-worn workwear trousers.
A nice pair of trousers with plenty of classic details and in a desirable material.
