An original Swedish military work shirt made from a blue cotton drill and most likely dating from the 1960s.
This shirt is of half placket design which is pulled on over the wearers head. This style of shirt was almost universal from the Victorian period through to the Second World War when full button shirts started to emerge. The shirt is made from a blue coloured cotton drill which is a hard wearing fabric, ideally suited to work clothing. It features a stand and fall collar, long sleeves with barrel cuff, breast pockets and epaulettes.
Like all half placket shirts, this shirt is cut wide in the chest to allow it to be pulled on over the shoulders. It will fit someone of around a 40 chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 23 1/2"
Inside arm - 20 1/2"
Outside arm - 25"
Shoulders - 19 3/4"
Length - 29 1/2"
The shirt is in good condition with some signs of wear and use. Overall it presents well and looks to be very wearable. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn vintage work shirt which may have small items commensurate with age.
A nice vintage work shirt with some great details.
