SOLD

An original Men's herringbone striped sports jacket made by 'Glenexe' in the 1960s.

This jacket is typical of those worn by men in the UK during the 1950s, usually as a more casual item with slacks and a shirt and tie. It is made from a herringbone striped wool with a subtle overcheck and is cut with a two button front closure and a narrow lapel in keeping with the fashion of the time. Flapped pockets are located to the skirt and the rear features a single vent. A yellow pocket square is also included with the jacket as they were clearly always worn together.

Inside the jacket is fully lined and features three interior pockets. The maker's label is present below one of them and bears the name 'Glenexe Regd'. The words 'made in Great Britain' and 'All pure new wool' are also present.

The jacket will fit a 38-39" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 17 1/4"
Outside arm - 26 1/4"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 30 1/2"

The jacket is in good condition and is still very wearable. There are no serious signs of wear or age but this is a vintage item which may have small flaws consummate with age. Please study the pictures before purchasing.

A classic 1960s gent's jacket!
