An original pair of men's trousers in a dogtooth check dating from the late 1960s.
These trousers are cut in a very traditional manner meaning that they could easily pass as being from an earlier decade. They are cut with a high rise waist and feature a fishtail back which is typical of the early part of the 20th Century. The trousers feature an interesting single pleat front design, straight slash pocket and a narrow leg. The fly fastens with a 'Lightning' brand zip which is typical of the period and the rear of the trousers features a single pocket. Buttons are fitted around the top edge of the trousers to which braces can be attached.
Inside the trousers the original label is still present and features the 'All Wool' maxim which was so prevalent at the time.
The trousers are a large size which should easily fit a 38" waist, if not a little bigger. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 20"
Rise - 16"
Rear rise - 21"
Inside leg - 32 1/2"
Outside leg - 47"
Cuff - 8 1/4"
The trousers are in good condition overall and are very wearable. There is staining however to various areas of the trousers so please take time to study the pictures and satisfy yourself of the condition before purchasing.
