An original 1960s men's shirt made by 'Double Two' in dead stock, unworn condition.
This shirt is typical of those made in the 1960s for men in Great Britain. It features a full button front and close fitting shape as well as a cutaway collar which was prevalent in the 1950s and into the first half of the 1960s. The shirt is made from a lightweight poplin cotton material which is white with a fine check pattern.
Inside the shirt the original label is still present and is the large tab style often encountered on shirts of this period. It states the manufacturer's name as 'Double Two' and the collar size as 15. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 21 3/4"
Inside arm - 20 1/2"
Outside arm - 20"
Shoulders - 23"
Length at back - 30"
The shirt is in excellent, unworn condition as can be seen in the pictures. The only flaw I can find is a mark to the right shoulder as detailed in the pictures.
A very nice shirt which is so typical of the era. This would make a great addition to any vintage wardrobe!
