An original pair of men's black leather brogue shoes made by Harry B. Hart in the 1960s.
This classic design has been popular with men for many years and is still worn today. The shoes are a standard brogue design which feature a straight toe cap with broguing detail with more similar detailing around the vamp and quarter. The leathers are made from a black leather, the interior is leather lined and the soles and heels are also leather. Period rubber sole protectors made by 'Phillips' have been fitted which are a typical perio feature.
Inside the shoes reads 'Special joint sunk' above the maker's name. The address of 50 Gresham Street, Guildhall E.C.2 is also present as are the words 'Made in England'. To the inside of the quarter the number is present as is the size of 8 1/2 F.
The shoes are in good condition overall with some signs of wear and use. They look to be wearable but please bear in mind that these are a pair of vintage, pre-owned shoes.
A nice pair of mid-Century shoes!
