An original set of Italian Army overalls in M29 camouflage and good wearable condition.
The M29 camouflaged was introduced prior to the Second World War and was used throughout the conflict. It stayed in use well into the post-war years and is now a classic camouflage pattern.
These overalls most likely date from the 1960s. They are made from cotton drill which has the camouflaged printed to the exterior. The front of the overalls fastens with buttons and two open top patch pockets are located to the chest and both fasten with a single, small plastic button. Epaulettes are fitted to each shoulder whilst large cargo pockets are fitted to the side of each leg. The sleeve cuffs feature a button and tab whilst the trouser cuff are elasticated. Inside the overalls a cord is fitted around the waist which can be pulled tight around the wearers middle.
The overalls feature a short leg although this may be due to them having a dropped crotch or they may have been intended for wear with high lacing boots. When laid flat they measure -
Chest - 24 1/4"
Inside arm - 17 1/4"
Outside arm - 23"
Armpit to cuff - 44"
Inside leg - 24 1/2"
Cuff - 8 1/2"
Crotch to neck rise - 33"
Shoulders - 20 1/2"
Rear crotch to neck - 36 1/2"
The coveralls are in good condition with some signs of wear and laundering. Overall they display well but may have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice pair of mid-century overalls in a fantastic camouflage pattern!
