A nice original men's blue coloured poplin cotton shirt made by 'Vantella' in the early 1960s.
This shirt is typical of those made in the UK in the 1950s and early 1960s. It is made from a blue and white 'end-on-end' poplin cotton and features a white neckband collar and a full button front. The cuffs are french, designed to be worn folded back onto themselves with cufflinks. They are semi stiff and made by 'Van Heusen' as is the white cotton neckband collar.
Inside the neck of the shirt the original label is still present and bears the name of 'Vantella' along with the size of 15 1/2" and the words 'To wear with Van Heusen collars' 'Made in Great Britain'. The collar size of 15 1/2 is printed on the inside of the collar as is the brand name of 'Van Heusen' and the sleeve length of 34.
The shirt will suit someone of around a 38-40" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
