An original leather jacket made in the UK during the 1960s.
This jacket appears to be made from horse hide leather and is cut in a bomber jacket style and features a knitted waistband, knitted cuffs and a knitted collar. A 'clix' brand zipper is fitted to the front and is typical of those used on jackets such as this during the 1960s. The interior is fully lined with a rayon type material. The overall design is based on American flight jackets of the 1950s such as the MA-1.
The jacket is a larger size which will fit around a 42" chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures -
Chest - 23 1/2"
Inside arm - 17"
Outside arm - 25"
Length - 27 1/2"
Waist - 18 1/2"
Shoulders - 19"
The jacket is in worn condition and has some flaws including a section where the stitching has come away on the arm seam and some tears to the leather on the arms. These are detailed in the pictures. Overall the jacket looks to be wearable but it is a pre-worn vintage item so please take time to study the pictures supplied.
A typical British jacket from the period with some nice details.
