An original pair of ladies work trousers made in the UK during the 1960s in a classic denim material.
Denim had been used for a number of years for work clothing and was starting to be worn as casual clothing in Great Britain by the 1960s. These trousers were designed as a work item and are typically utilitarian. They are cut in keeping with womens slacks from the 1960s with a narrow leg and high rise waist. They feature a side button fastening to each side which is secured with black plastic buttons and there is a single patch pocket to the rear which has a large flap. Inside there is a label which is again typical of work clothing from this period which merely features the size in a sans-serif font. It reads 'Size 38 Hip'.
When laid flat the trousers measure -
Waist - 13"
Hips - 20"
Rise - 12"
Rear rise - 15"
Inside leg -32 1/2"
Outside leg - 42"
Cuff - 8"
The trousers are in excellent condition and do not appear to have previously been worn. Please study the pictures however and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
