An original pair of British made men's trousers dating from the 1950s and in a striking electric blue needle stripe.
These trousers may well have originally been part of a suit. The construction is typical of trousers made in the UK during the 1950s with a high rise waist, button fly and wide leg. The lining in the waistband and the white brace buttons are typical of 1950s trousers. The trousers are made from a wool which features a fine electric blue needle stripe which is again typical of the period. A large ticket pocket is located below the waistband and waist adjusters are located to each hip, which are again a typical period feature. A single rear pocket can be found to the seat, as is often the case with British made trousers from this era.
The trousers will fit 33" - 35" waist due to their adjustable nature. The measurements below are taken with the waist adjusted to its largest setting -
Waist - 17 3/4"
Rise - 15"
Rear rise - 19 1/2"
Inside leg - 27 1/2"
Outside leg - 39 1/2"
Cuff - 9"
The trousers are in reasonable condition for their age with some signs of wear and use. There are two holes to the rear as shown in picture 8 but aside from this there are no serious flaws. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A good original pair of 1950s trousers in a great fabric.
