An original British made Rubberized Macintosh Raincoat made by 'Timeg' and dating from the 1950s.

The style of this raincoat is totally unchanged from those of the 1930s and 1940s and it could easily pass as being from this period. This style of coat was very popular with British Army officers during the war but was also a common sight in towns and cities across the UK in the post-war period.

The coat is made from a heavy rubberised canvas cotton material designed to keep the rain off and is typical in design for the period. It features a simple, utilitarian design with a fly covered single breasted front and two flapped pockets located to the front. Painted metal eyelets can also be found under each armpit and a hanging loop is situated to the neck. The cuffs feature a buttoning tab detail.

Inside the coat the original label is still present.  It reads 'A Timeg Ltd Product' as well as the Islington Address of 338-341 Upper Street and a phone number.

The coat will fit around a 44"" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 26 1/2"
Inside arm - 20"
Outside arm - 26 1/2"
Length - 48"
Shoulders - 20"

The coat is in worn condition but still very wearable. It is still pliable but has a stiff feel as rubberised items often do. There is some staining etc which is illustrated in the picture but no serious flaws. The coat is wearable and looks great but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn, vintage coat which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A nice original example with a great period label and in a larger size. This would be a good addition to a period suit or British Army Officers impression.
