An original pair of men's beige coloured whipcord breeches dating from the 1950s.
This style of breeches was popular with men throughout the first half of the 20th Century for a variety of country pursuits. This pair is made from a beige coloured whipcord and features leather reinforcement patches to the inside of each calf and a button fly. The belt loops fitted around the waist are typical of post-war breeches made in the UK as is the single rear pocket. The fly fastens with buttons and more buttons and more buttons are fitted around the inside of the waist to which braces can be attached.
The breeches would suit someone of around a 32" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 32 1/2"
Rise - 12"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 21"
Calf - 6 3/4"
Cuff - 5 3/4"
The breeches are in good condition with some signs of wear and use. They appear to be very wearable but please study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-owned pair of vintage breeches which may have small issues commensurate with their age.
A nice pair of 1950s breeches!
