An original pair of Khaki Drill shorts, most likely made in France during the 1950s.
These shorts are typical of those made in the 1940 and 1950s for both military and civilian use. They are made from a light tan coloured cotton drill material and feature a twin pleated front, slash pockets to the hips, a button fly and waist adjusters. The style of buttons are typically found on French manufacturer items from this period which may be a clue into their origin.
The shorts will suit someone of around a 31" waist and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 15 1/2"
Rise - 14 1/"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 6"
Outside leg - 18"
Cuff - 16"
The shorts are in good condition and still very wearable. There are some signs of light wear and some marks but overall the shorts are in good condition. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that these shorts are a vintage pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original pair of mid Century shorts!
