Original 1950s German Brown Leather Jacket

Original 1950s German Brown Leather Jacket

Code: 51759

SOLD

An original mens leather jacket made in German in the 1950s.

This style of jacket was very popular during the mid-century period with many examples in a similar shape to this being produced in Germany in the 1940s and 1950s. Made from a thick brown coloured horsehide leather, the jacket features a brass 'Zipp' brand zipper to the front and two more brass zips fitted to angle lower pockets. The jacket features broad, padded shoulders and an elasticated waist which give it that typical period look.

The interior of the jacket is fully lined with a light brown coloured cotton moleskin. An interior pocket is present as is a hanging loop to the neck which is made out of leather.

The jacket will fit someone of around a 40" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -

Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 17 1/2"
Outside arm - 25 1/2"
Shoulders 17 3/4"
Length - 29"

The jacket is in very good condition for its age as can be seen in the pictures. It only shows limited signs of age and wear and presents very well indeed. There is a hole to the lining and one of the pocket zips is missing its puller but there are no other major faults that I can find.

A very nice and wearable mid century leather jacket in great condition!
