An original General Post Office cotton drill work jacket dating from the 1950s. 

This jacket would have been by someone working for the post office in the 1950s. It is typical of British work jackets from the period being made of a khaki coloured cotton drill and cut in a single breasted, engineer jacket style. The jacket features a notched lapel and lower flapped pockets as well as red piping to the cuffs and collar. Vent holes are located to each arm pit and two more similar holes are positioned to the left breast to which a badge could be fitted. The jacket is fitted with GPO marked buttons which are removable for laundering purposes. 

Inside the jacket the original label is present and is typical of military and work clothing made during this period. A sans-serif font states details including the manufactures name, 'MANCLARK' of Edinburugh and the size of 6.

The jacket will suit somone of around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures - 

Chest - 21 1/2"
Inside arm - 16 1/4"
Outside arm - 24"

The jacket is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It only shows limited signs of wear and use and overall looks to be very wearable. Please bear in mind that this a pre-worn vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
