An original pair of French Corduroy trousers dating from the 1950s which are made in a fantastic petrol grey coloured fabric.
This style of trousers was extremely popular with French labourers, Artisans and workers throughout the mid-Century period. Made from a grey coloured, thick corduroy material; the pants feature a mid rise waist and wide leg as was popular during this period. The trousers also feature a button fly and a large metal hook and eye closes the top of the waist. There is a separate waistband with belt loop and straight pockets are located to each hip. Buttons are located around the inside edge of the waistband to which braces can be attached.
The trousers will suit a 33" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Rise - 12"
Rear rise - 17"
Inside leg - 26 1/2"
Outside leg - 37 1/2"
Cuff - 9 1/2"
The trousers are in worn condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are some excellent original period darns and repairs which really add to the character of the garment. They are still totally wearable and display well. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned pair of work trousers.
