An original men's jacket made by 'Viscount' in the 1950s which is in distressed condition.
This jacket is typical of those made in the U.K. during the 1950s. It is cut from a striking grey coloured wool which features a Prince of Wales check pattern - a popular choice during this period. It features a three button front and flapped pockets to the lower portion as well as a single vent to the rear. The interior is fully lined in rayon and there is a hanging loop to the neck. There is also an interior pocket, below which is the maker's label which reads 'Viscount'. Inside the pocket is another label which bears the size of 36.
The jacket will suit a 36" chest and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 19 1/2"
Inside arm - 17 1/4"
Outside arm - 24 1/2"
Length - 28 1/2"
Shoulders - 17"
The jacket is in distressed condition which is reflected in the price. There are a plethora of holes to the body of the jacket as well as the sleeves. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a distressed, vintage item.
Whilst not in the best condition it is still a classic piece of 1950s menswear with a nice label.
