An original pair of British made linen trousers dating from the 1950s.
These trousers are typical of the period and feature a high rise waist, twin pleated front and wide leg. The angled slash pockets located to the hips denote that they were most likely made in the early 1950s although could be slightly earlier. The trousers are made from a khaki coloured linen material which was a popular choice for warm climates during this period. They feature belt loops around the waist and no rear pockets.
The trousers will suit a 28" waist and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 14"
Rise - 14 3/4"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 30 1/2"
Outside leg - 43 1/2"
Cuff - 9 3/4"
The trousers are in used condition with various signs of wear and use. There is some staining as well as some repairs and some of the fly buttons are period replacements. Overall they are wearable but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
A nice pair of early 1950s British linen trousers in wearable condition.
