An original pair of French workwear trousers made by 'Extra Savo' and dating from the 1950s.
These trouser are typical of those worn by men in France in the Mid-century period and were popular with farm workers, labourers and artisans amongst many others. They are cut with a wide leg and mid rise as was the fashion during this period. They feature a waistband and belt loops to the top and pockets on the hips whilst the fly fastens with buttons. The rear of the trousers features a simple patch pocket which fastens with a single button.
When laid flat the trousers measure -
Waist - 15 1/2"
Rise - 11 1/2"
Rear rise - 16"
Inside leg - 26 1/2" (1 1/2" to let down)
Cuff - 8"
The trousers are in good condition for their age with plenty of signs of wear, use and fading. Overall the condition is very good although one of the belt loops has come away at the bottom as can be seen in the photograph showing the rear of the trousers. The trousers are still vey wearable but please study the pictures and remember that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage work trousers which may have other small issues consummate with their age.
A nice pair of mid-century work trousers which would make a great addition to your wardrobe!
