SOLD

An original Belstaff 'Black Prince' motorcycle jacket dating from the 1950s and in used condition.

This jacket was produced during the 1950s and 1960s by Belstaff and is now a design classic. It was intended to be worn by motorcyclists and is made from a sheet rubber PVC material and has electronic welded seams making it both highly waterproof and windproof. The jacket features a 'Aero' branded zip to the front which is hidden behind a fly which fastens with 'Newey' press studs. Two flapped pockets are located to the skirt and also fasten with pop studs, as do the cuffs. The original waist belt is still fitted to the middle through two belt loops, one of which has come partly un-attached. To the rear of the waist belt is a section of reflective material which is a feature of this design. The jacket can be fastened around the neck with the aid of a collar strap and eyelets are located to each armpit to allow for ventilation.

The jacket will fit around a 36 - 38" chest and when laid flat it measures -

Chest - 21 1/2"
Waist - 17 1/2"
Inside arm - 20"
Outside arm - 23"
Length - 29"
Shoulders - 17"

The jacket is in reasonable condition with various signs of wear and age. The interior labels have been removed and the issue with one of the belt loops has already been mentioned. There are also some splits around the collar as shown in the pictures. Please study the pictures carefully and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item with some issues commensurate with age.

A classic piece of British outerwear from one of the country's most famous makers!
