An original pair of white cotton shorts made by 'Umbro' in the 1940s.
These shorts are typical of those worn by men during the 1930s through to the 1950s. They are made from a white coloured cotton drill and feature a high rise waist and button fly. Slash pockets are located to each hip and waist adjusters can be found above this which are a typical period feature. Belt loops are located around the waist and there are no rear pockets.
Inside the shorts the original label is still present and bears the classic Umbro logo along with the words 'Made in England'. Below this is a smaller tag with the number '30' on it which relates to size. When laid flat the shorts measure -
Waist - 14"
Rise - 12 1/2"
Rear rise - 16"
Inside leg - 7"
Outside leg - 18"
Cuff - 11 1/2"
The shorts are in good condition for their age with only limited signs of wear and use. There is some minor staining but overall they display well. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
