An original men's waistcoat made in the 1940s as part of the CC41 utility scheme.
This waistcoat is typical of those made in a grey birdseye check wool and features a five button front and four front pockets. It does not have a cinch back belt and buckle to the rear unlike most waistcoats. This has clearly been omitted as part of the CC41 utility design. The interior is fully lined and bears the CC41 utility label which has the cloth number of X209E which would suggest this item dates from the latter part of the 1940s.
The waistcoat will fit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 19 1/2"
Length - 23"
The waistcoat is in distressed condition as can be seen in the pictures. The damage has been taken into account with the price but please take time to satisfy yourself of the condition before purchasing.
Whilst this is a damaged item it is still an original 1940s utility piece with some nice details from the period.
